Find Washington County Traffic Tickets

Most Washington County traffic tickets end up in one of two places: the Circuit Court or a municipal court, and the citation itself tells you which. Start there. The court name, address, and response date printed on the ticket are all a driver needs to begin a Washington County traffic ticket lookup. The Circuit Court lists case information in the statewide system. Municipal courts in the Mid-Moraine area work differently, offering calendars plus plea and payment instructions rather than a public docket search. That deadline on the ticket matters most of all. It decides whether you pay by mail, plead in writing, or show up in person. Check the venue before you drive out, since some municipal sessions sit at a village or city hall.

Washington County Traffic Court Records

Washington County Circuit Court handles county circuit traffic and forfeiture citations, with criminal traffic routed through its criminal and traffic division. Municipal ordinance, parking, traffic, and forfeiture matters may go to Mid-Moraine Municipal Court. The issuing agency and citation determine the court. WCCA supplies public circuit case information, while Mid-Moraine's official pages supply calendar, plea, and payment directions rather than a searchable public event register.

The citation date for a county circuit matter is an opportunity for a pretrial conference. An agreement can result in a Stipulation and Order. Without agreement, the matter proceeds to a later trial. A municipal citation follows the venue and response directions printed on that ticket.

Washington County Circuit or Municipal

Criminal traffic belongs in the circuit criminal and traffic division. Local ordinance and forfeiture citations can go to municipal court. The citation's named court resolves that split. A Washington County filter in WCCA is not a full list of Mid-Moraine tickets.

Looking Up a Traffic Ticket

Begin with the citation itself. Its number, issuing agency, date, response deadline, and appearance venue are more reliable than a broad county search. Search WCCA for a circuit case. For a municipal matter, use the court calendar or call Mid-Moraine because its payment portal is not a docket search.

  1. Read the court, agency, citation number, date, and address on the ticket.
  2. For circuit court, search WCCA by case details.
  3. For Mid-Moraine, check its official calendar and citation instructions.
  4. Call circuit criminal and traffic staff at 262-365-5134 or the municipal court when a known citation cannot be matched.
  5. Visit the correct counter only after confirming which court holds the matter.

Washington County Mid-Moraine Route

Mid-Moraine serves municipalities in Washington and Ozaukee counties. Its totals are not Washington County-only figures. The office is at 321 N. Main Street, Suite 201, West Bend, and current hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed Friday.

How to Find Your Traffic Court Date

The initial date, time, and address printed on the citation control unless the court changes them. Mid-Moraine warns that some sessions occur at a participating municipal hall, not its West Bend office. Germantown sessions are held at Village Hall. A circuit activity entry may show the setting and a later reset, but a person with a required response should confirm any change with the court.

Washington County Citation Address

The address on the citation beats a generic courthouse search. Germantown sessions are held at Village Hall. Jackson identifies a separate municipal-complex route for parking payments. A payment site, office, and hearing room are not always the same place.

Pay or Contest a Ticket

Follow the choices and deadline on the citation. For county circuit traffic, a person who cannot attend but wants a pretrial or trial must send a written not-guilty plea by the end of the citation date or stated deadline. It must include court date, issuing agency, citation number, violation date, current mailing address, and phone number. Mail or fax it to the circuit clerk. Municipal instructions can differ.

Do not ignore the deadline: County instructions describe possible civil judgment, interest, tax-refund intercept, suspension, DNR privilege revocation, or collection. Municipal instructions also describe court-ordered consequences. Ask the correct court what applies.

Washington County Written Plea

A circuit written not-guilty plea must arrive by the deadline. Include court date, issuing agency, citation number, violation date, current mailing address, and phone. The county permits mail or fax to 262-335-4776.

Traffic Court Record vs Driving Record

These are two distinct files. The circuit clerk or municipal court keeps the citation case record, including court events and outcome. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation keeps the separate driving record. A court lookup answers what happened in the cited case. A DOT record request follows the agency's own process.

Washington County Payment Systems

WCCA Pay Online and PayGov serve circuit obligations. PayGov lists 1-866-480-8552 and location code 2936. Mid-Moraine uses Point & Pay and a drop box for checks or money orders. Its page says no cash and no checks when restitution is ordered.

Copies and Fees

For circuit court records, the current Wisconsin schedule lists ordinary copies at $1.25 per page and certification at $5 plus the page charge. Payment processor fees may apply to online citation payments, but such a payment fee is not a record-copy fee. Ask Mid-Moraine about municipal copy availability and cost because no universal municipal copy price was documented.

Washington County Traffic Volume

The 2024 circuit report includes a forfeiture total of 5,850 in its relevant total column. Mid-Moraine separately reported 14,427 cases filed in 2024 across its shared membership. The municipal report warns that some rows lack all four quarters, and membership crosses county lines. Do not add these figures or call either one a pure county traffic total.
